My life was always simple when I was little kid. I was very lazy like a sloth. I always watch television, eat, and sit on the couch all day but all that changed when my mom told me I had to go to school. When my mom told me about school I thought it was a dull place plus I had to learn English. It sounded like a hard language to learn. My first school was Rowan elementary I didn’t really learn anything there.
Then, my family decided to move somewhere else. We moved to City of
Meeting Miranda
When I was 8 yrs old and in the third grade, I would always see this strange girl walking around school. She would wear these strangely colored clothes. I thought of her as unique or extraordinary. Her hair looked as if someone got gum stuck in it, then cut it off in a weird way. The truth was that I never really liked her, I kind or hated her. But there was a reason. She would always talk to my mom. Whenever she would see us she would talk to her, I had no idea why that bothered me, maybe it’s because I didn’t want my mom talking to someone I didn’t even know.
Later I found out that her name was Miranda. Shortly after, I realized that her class was right across from mine. Miranda, if I can recall also had bushy eyebrows. She was really tall as tall as the building or that’s just how she looked to me. The year was finally over. I was bursting with joy; I could have been jumping up and down. When the new school year started I didn’t want to go. I even almost started to cry like a baby. But I remembered that some of my friends were there so I went. When I went in I saw Ruby and Isabel. We tried to sit next to each other, but Mr. Flores had already assigned seats. Mr. Flores was tall and a weird beard more like stubble. After recess, when we got back I saw Miranda. My face just exploded, the room felt like it was getting smaller.
After a while I started talking to her. She was really interesting. We started to eat lunch together, hanging out as we could. Soon we were best friends. We would always be together; if someone was looking for one of us they would find us both. Miranda would always make laugh. Never was there a time Miranda would not have a crush on someone, but then she stopped. Then near the end of the year I found out that she lived on the same block as me. It was my house, then the back house. There was a wall that wasn’t high but had barbed wire; Miranda’s house was right behind it. When the school year ended, we were devastated we thought that we would never see each other. But then we remembered we could visit each others’ house.
When the fifth grade started I was so happy I had Miranda in my class. But the worst teacher. Her name was Ms, Simpson, she smoked a lot. When she passed by you, you couldn’t even breathe. We even made a song about her. She was mean to everyone on the first day, like when she made us write about hurricane Katrina then made us read it and then laughed at us.
Her classroom was okay. The floor had carpets. As much as I can remember Miranda has changed a lot. She became boyish like a tomboy. She chased boys’ everyday at lunch all the time. They would see her, get scared and run off. She has also become nicer and helps out people when ever she could. I could always count on her when I needed help or had a problem. I miss her a lot. Over the summer she moved so I don’t see her as much as I use to. But I do know that I will see her in ninth grade at Garfield and she would see all of her loving friends.
Have you ever gotten in a school fight? Well I have, when I was in 7th grade I got in a fight. It all started when the girl kept rolling her eyes at me. One day after school hers and my friend were going to get in a fight. I seen her trying to think all cool and then told her friend “don’t worry I got your back.” I was just laughing and laughing at her because it was very funny.
After I just snapped at her and told her “shut up you sound so dumb saying that.” She got all mad. The next day was when all the action happened. If you now what I mean. During lunch I went up to her and told her that why was she saying that we jumped her friend. She got all up in my face and told me that she wasn’t. I got tired of her and told her handles then after school. She said ok.
After 5 and 6 period pass when I came outside of my classroom she was waiting for me right there. She had big ring in each finger. I told her to take them off that this was a clean fight. I couldn’t believe she actually listen to me and took them off. I through my backpack to the floor and put my hair in a bun. As soon as I seen her coming near me I got her by the hair and started swinging at her. I got some clean shots in her face. The point when she got at me by the hair I got all crazy on her.
