In fifth grade during the south playground's repair, Magaly and I stayed after school. The sun was beating down on us and the soles of our shoes were scorching hot from the heat. Then all of a sudden it started to drizzle very faintly at first, then the droplets of rain were thick as gum balls and u could not see what was in front of you. We sprinted to the corner store across the street from our elementary school. Together we waited for the sun to shine again and so it did, after a couple of minutes, the storm had passed and so we bought some drinks and junk food and left.
We walked across the now sodden asphalt inhaling its sweet aroma drinking our ice cold Gatorade. When we arrived at the north playground we found Valerie and she had a bottle of Lucas picante. We screamed her name out and she rammed right into the pole (ouch). Magaly ran up to her and helped her up, after we were certain that she was alright we asked if she wanted to do the secret Lucas mix and she was all up for that.
All three us were in Rowan Avenue’s Bulldogs Drill team so we knew the secret formula. A bottle of Lucas and a bag of limon Lays (lemon). The story goes like this; Miss Lopez who was once our coach was walking with a Lucas bottle in one hand and a bag of limon Lays and then she tripped. When she stood up she noticed that her limon Lays had some Lucas on them and well she tried them, loved it and ever since then every week we have had a bag of secret formulated limon Lays.
Valerie always loved the secret formula so we mixed the ingredients and dug in. Magaly accidentally inhaled an air full of Lucas and she started coughing. She ran to a nearby water fountain and nearly choked on the water. When she was done spewing water out of her mouth she dared us to do what she had just done.
Valerie is always up for a challenge and so she said she would do it. When she did it, she did not start coughing like Magaly but you did see her body heaving but nothing coming out. When she had calmed down she told me that the citric acid in Lucas is what had made her start heaving. Then all to soon it was my turn and so I did it and the sensation that your stomach was on fire was instantaneous. I automatically ran to the water fountain like Magaly had and I was relieved of the burning sensation but a new sensation was occurring underneath it all. At first I felt fine but then I felt light headed the floor started falling away from me and then I was on the ground, puking out a concoction of fluids. It felt like I could not stop but then I was emptied of all the food and liquids in my body and I felt better.
When I stood up I was ailing and I was tottering over a puddle of my own vomit. I felt dehydrated and dizzy Valerie and Magaly had to walk me home. When I finally arrived at my house I crashed onto my soft bed and fell asleep.

Amazing tale Beatriz!
As I was reading I was surprised that you revealed the "secret" recipe, but by the time I reached the story's climax I no longer felt the desire to try it.
You have incredibly descriptive words throughout that made me feel like I was right there on the playground.
Excellent work.
